Soft Edge
by Wesley Sueker
A.K.A. "I've already said all that can be said... but I'm gonna keep complaining anyway!" This zine was birthed from the depths of my despairing over my shitty job, but I grew up in the 90s so it just came out as blazé disaffection. It's basically a giant collage diary leaning heavy into that late 90s punk/goth Girl aesthetic. But really it's about wanting to quit my job.
I don't have much else to say about it, so instead get a sneak peak at some of the quality content you can expect to see: "What if the beatles were goth", "if your present sucks, and the future is looking bleak because you've been so beaten down by the present, then hindsight idealism is like all you have left", "I HATE MY BOSS, I HATE THE TOWN, I HATE THE RICH WHITE ASSHOLES", & "I've given up on so many things I actually liked doing, why the hell shouldn't I give up on you??"

Salty Raven Milkshake: Coffee Edition
"Salty Raven Milkshake is for anyone who has ever felt as if witches are still burning." Visit Salty Raven Milkshake, a little haven town for witches of all kinds, written by witchy sailor Captain Prolactin! This zine takes you around the town and shows off some of its (OC) residents. It's full of illustrations, comics, histories, recipes, spells, stories, and so much more! This issue is "centered on all-things-coffee: the historical link between coffee and magic, coffee and workplace aggression, revolutionary coffee co-ops, and reclaiming coffee from colonizers."
And holy shit, it is really beautiful guys. The whole thing is an immersive and incredible collection of art, you can get lost just staring at pages before even reading. Whenever I played the Sims or any similar game, I'd always be most interested in creating not just a family, but a whole a fictional town interwoven from multiple characters. (I never ended up playing very far past the creation part cause the characters I wasn't actively playing as would never live out the story I had in mind for them, but w/e). And that's exactly what Tiffany Pascal has done here--created an in-universe publication for a cozy, punk little town, AND has real-world facts and histories written in-character, I mean... I am so floored by this piece and I can't even believe that Tiffany contacted me to distro it T^T
40 pages, Color (and super high-quality paper), 5.5" x 8.25" (half letter)

The Stressed Fox
The story of a fox and too much stimulus around it. Hand-printed from linocuts and hand-stitched with string, each zine is a unique piece and a little different! It's such a special piece of art to hold in your hand. A story in comic panels of a simple lesson to be learned from the forest.
8 pages, B&W hand-printed, 2.75" x 4.25" (minizine)

a good morning
A beautiful and calming zine of living out a Good Morning. A beautiful zine of illustrations--a blend of drawings with digital patterns, watercolor brushes, blues, greens, and space to breathe. It exists as both an ideal and a special dream of what a simple Good Morning could be.
Reading the zine invites you to slow down and breathe, from both the content itself and the physicality of the zine. It's hand-stitched on thick, smooth paper with rounded corners. It really makes the reading experience special and contemplative. I find myself coming back to it when I need a moment.
8 pages, Color, 4.25" x 5.5" (quarter size)

Ruins
A minizine altar to ruins, the overtaken stone skeletons of past creation. The zine is a series of watercolors depicting ruins and a short prose musing/poem about them. The watercolors are really entrancing with such delicate color variation, just enough to capture the essence of ruins and the portals they create. It's printed on textured paper which adds beautifully to the effect.
8 pages, Color, 2.75" x 4.25" (minizine)

27 Countdown
by Wesley Sueker
A page-a-day diary zine counting down the days before turning 27. It's got a high-contrast mix of drawings, stamps, and mostly-legible handwriting. I made this on impulse and it's ended up as a fascinating snapshot of how my mood shifts day-to-day. Featuring musings about birthday gifts, bad cozy mysteries, Ken Jennings (fuck him), friendships and lack thereof, essays due soon, and lions. Oh, and can't forget that Roth IRA I never set up.
16 pages, B&W with color cover, 4.25" x 5.5" (quarter size)

Together Forever
CW: Animal death, euthanasia, and processing of animal bodies. Some images are quite graphic--these pages are stuck together with a sticker for when you're ready.
"How & Why I Preserved My Cat After Death". The story of the beautiful life and tragic decline of Sofi Kitty. For anyone who has struggled to find a way to memorialize a pet upon their death, Low puts forth an interesting (and perhaps macabre) option--her cat's skeleton preserved and articulated.
I think this zine is Important. It's so important to feel connected to an animal (humans included) after they have passed, and oftentimes the perceived morbidity of alternative methods of preservation leave these methods unknown and unconsidered. Low talks about Sofi, the decision to humanely euthanize her, memorial options Low considered, and documented the process of having Sofi's skeleton articulated. You can feel how deepy Low loved--and continues to love--Sofi Kitty, and how much comfort it brings in knowing Sofi is still here in some way.

Everyone Dies
Content Warning: death, funerals, and grief
"The only thing we know for sure is that everyone dies." I'd put forth another certainty--that we as a society don't sufficiently acknowledge the realities of dying, grief, and the death industry. In this zine, Low talks plainly about grief resulting from death, how death and dying is glossed over and corporatised, and the process and finances for a different ways of dealing with dead bodies.
This is an excellent primer on death and dying not only for the clear and honest way it gives the nonfiction information, but also in the way it makes space for the feelings that arise from death in a way that prioritizes personal stories and rituals instead of euphemisms and platitudes. Honestly, this is a great zine for everyone to reference, because as Low says, everyone dies!
24 pages, B&W with green cover, 5.5" x 8.25" (half letter)

"I Want To Make A Zine Someday"
by Wesley Sueker
"I want to make a zine someday." No offense, but why haven't you? a.k.a. sometimes I hate navigating conversations a.k.a. please, just make a zine!!!
If you're a zinester, you've probably heard something along the lines of "That's so cool, I've always wanted to try making zines." This zine will validate the inevitable frustration that comes from hearing that statement and not knowing how to respond.
If you're not a zinester, you've proably said something along the lines of "That's so cool, I've always wanted to try making zines." This zine will help you figure out what's holding you back, gtfover yourself and just do it.
Either way, there's something for everyone!
This zine was originally printed as part of Unfair Maiden #5, but due to popular demand (from one person) I've made it a separate zine as well.
8 pages, Color or B&W, 8.5" x 5.5" (half letter).

I Was A Teenage Girl!
by Wesley Sueker
When I was in middle school, I had to take a combination girls' health/girls' empowerment class called Oh My Goddess. At the end of the class we all made a zine about ourselves and what it was like being a teenage girl. I may not have been "officially" trans yet, but I was definitely GNC, and I did not relate.
This zine was born of me cutting up and commenting on that class zine we made! I talk about bullying, gender, and my overall experience in the class. Lots of campy throwback junk.

They Might Be Fanzines: Lincoln
by Wesley Sueker
Fanart and commentary for every song on my favorite They Might Be Giants album, Lincoln. Never heard it? Well to sum it all up: Lincoln is a radical, anti-authoritarian, genre-defying alternative-indie-folk-rock album about depression, worker’s rights, and the ills of society, but it’s so brilliant in that even with such heavy themes, it doesn’t take itself too seriously!
28 pages, B&W, 5.25″ x 5.5″ (CD size). Summer 2021.
